Target System

Predicting when an assailant will react to a shooter’s rounds, even when properly placed and delivered in high numbers, is virtually impossible. Similarly, predicting when a target on a Target System will drop, regardless of the accuracy and volume of fire, is equally uncertain. This is the fundamental purpose behind the design of these targets. Traditional shooting targets, such as paper or steel, provide a one-dimensional reaction—either the plate drops or a hole appears in the paper. It’s up to the shooter or instructor to maintain coverage in case further firepower is needed.

The Target System aims to replicate the uncertainty of a real gunfight as closely as possible within a controlled range. A single center-mass shot may cause the target to drop, or multiple hits may be necessary—just as an assailant may not be immediately incapacitated. Designed by a U.S. Army infantry and Special Forces veteran, who is also a West Point graduate with an Engineering degree, this system is rooted in real-world experience. After several tours in Iraq, the veteran applied his engineering background to create a highly effective training tool.

The Target System is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to train for high-stakes situations. While it may provide some entertainment, it is not intended as a sport target. Instead, it is a practical tool for simulating the unpredictable variables of a real-life encounter, such as the effects of drugs, body armor, adrenaline, willpower, or other factors. Whether training for home defense, concealed carry, or law enforcement duties, the Target System reinforces the importance of maintaining good habits in training—ensuring the continued application of accurate fire until the assailant is neutralized and no longer poses a threat.
